I'm Emmanuel Jolaiya. I love to build.
I am Emmanuel Jolaiya, an Earth Observation and Geospatial Software Engineer with a keen interest in open-source software development, user interface design, innovation, community development, and capacity building. I am currently pursuing a Master's in Geospatial Technologies through a joint program between the University of Münster, Germany, and the University of Jaume I (UJI), Spain, supported by the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.
My professional experience includes consulting for organizations such as the World Bank on the Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project and GIZ through the Nigeria Energy Support Programme. My work primarily focuses on the intersection of data analysis, Web GIS, software development, and automation to develop solutions for complex problems. My current interests include Sustainable Mobility, Geospatial Algorithms, Big Data Quality, Geospatial Data Engineering, and Web GIS.
I am a strong advocate for democratizing access to knowledge and information to foster meaningful social and intellectual development. By empowering informed minds from diverse backgrounds, we can create transformational solutions to address real-world challenges.
Currently, I am the founder of Spatialnode, where we are developing tools and platforms to enable geospatial professionals to showcase their work and explore new opportunities.
When I'm not on my computer, you'll likely find me doing one of the following: taking a walk while grooving to Afrobeats and Hip-Hop music, playing table tennis, hitting the gym, playing football, or watching random tutorials on YouTube. I also enjoy catching up on past conference proceedings.
